Over 100 of Elizabeth and Newark New Jersey area gangs met with Salaam Ismial and he found most them wanted love and attention. By convincing the leaders of the gangs to get involved in some positive activities helped to bring many involved in the organization.
Ismial said the way to reach them is to talk their language and understand their way even if you disagree. “The point is to reach whom you can and to realize there are some that will not be reached.”
